Statistics and statistical thinking have become increasingly important in a society that relies more and more on information and demands for evidence… a natural environment for learning statistical thinking is through experiencing the process of collecting data, exploring data and commenting on data.” (AMSI, 2011)
In F–3, the focus on data representation and interpretation is on gathering and organising simple information and creating and interpreting simple representations of data.
This workshop will engage teachers in practical and enjoyable learning experiences that focus on understanding, problem solving and reasoning and aim to raise awareness of statistical data investigation processes. The learning experiences shared will focus on collaborative and active learning and will also utilise and challenge students understanding and application of number knowledge and understanding.
